Description

There is a quietness to flowers rendered in silver, as though the metal remembers the garden. This ring is built around a single floral motif, its petals worked in sterling silver and gathered at the centre to cradle a faceted amethyst. The stone is set in a manner that lets light enter from every angle, drawing out the violet's full spectrum, from pale lavender at the edges to a deeper plum at the heart. Sterling silver, with its cool, slightly matte character, provides exactly the right foil: unpretentious, honest, and possessed of a quiet lustre that does not compete with the gem. The tradition of setting amethyst into floral silver work has long been practised by silversmiths across Rajasthan and the hill workshops of the north, where the craft values restraint over ornament. At ten millimetres in height and just two grams in weight, the ring sits close to the hand without bulk. Wear it on an index finger over a linen kurta in ivory or sage for a considered daytime look; or pair it with a tissue silk saree for an evening occasion where understatement becomes its own statement. The ring is crafted in sterling silver and sized at a standard ten millimetres in height, making it an easy everyday companion. The low weight ensures all-day comfort, and sterling silver responds well to a soft cloth, maintaining its finish with minimal care.
