Description

There are rings that ornament the finger, and there are rings that hold a conversation with light. This sterling silver ring is built around a mirror at its centre, framed by a worked floral motif in relief. The mirror face, beloved in Rajasthani and Gujarati craft traditions, is not decorative frivolity but an old idea: that a sliver of reflected sky or candlelight transforms silver into something alive. The surrounding petals are rendered with the kind of hand-finishing that takes patience over speed, each edge slightly individual, slightly warm. Sterling silver, at its proper alloy, carries a cooler, brighter tone than gold, and this piece leans into that quality deliberately. Standing 1.3 inches (approximately 3.3 cm) tall and weighing a substantive 17.2 grams, it sits with genuine presence on the hand, neither dainty nor overwhelming. Worn to a winter wedding, it reads against raw silk or a dark Benarasi with quiet authority. For daywear, pair it with a handloom cotton kurta and let the mirror catch afternoon light the way a jhanjhar would at a village fair. The ring is offered in one size, finished in a polished silver that resists the flat look of machine work. At 17.2 grams, it has the settled weight of a piece meant to be worn and worn again, not saved for a shelf.
