Description

There are mornings when a single flower says everything a garland cannot. This sterling silver brooch is built around a stylised floral motif, its petals radiating outward from a centred blue stone that anchors the composition like the still eye of a bloom in motion. The silhouette is compact and considered: 1.6 inches (approximately 4 cm) in height and 0.8 inches (approximately 2 cm) in width, weighing a precise 12 grams on the wrist. The silver has been worked to hold its shape with quiet confidence, the setting allowing the blue stone to sit flush and prominent without crowding the surrounding metalwork. Pieces of this character, floral, silver, stone-centred, trace their lineage to a long tradition of South Indian and Bengali brooch craft, where silversmiths rendered botanical forms not as ornament alone but as a kind of devotional observation of the natural world. Pin it at the shoulder of a fine cotton or Chanderi kurta for a daytime gathering, or wear it centred on the lapel of a structured linen blazer for an evening that asks for restraint over abundance. The brooch is finished to a standard free size and fastens with a pin-back closure, making it practical for daily use without snagging delicate fabrics. Sterling silver of this weight carries well, and the blue stone introduces enough colour to hold attention without demanding it.
