Description

There is a quiet devotion in the meeting of the sacred and the ornamental. At the centre of this brooch, a rudraksha bead sits enthroned within a circlet of stylised petals, its natural texture contrasting with the worked surface of the surrounding brass. The floral frame recalls the votive garlands pressed into South Indian temple jewellery, where every bloom is an offering. Cast and finished by hand in brass, the piece carries a warm, antique-gold tone that ages gracefully without the fragility of plated silver. Measuring 1.75 inches in height and width (approximately 4.4 cm each), it reads as a considered accent rather than a statement, its weight of 16.8 grams lending it the satisfying heft of something made to last. Pin it at the shoulder of a raw-silk kurta for a puja gathering, where its devotional grammar feels entirely at ease. It works equally well fastened to the lapel of a structured linen jacket, grounding a contemporary silhouette with a thread of the sacred. The brooch is offered in a single free size, its standard clasp fitting most fabrics without distorting them. Brass, when worn regularly and wiped clean after use, develops a depth of tone that no factory finish can replicate. This is a piece for those who understand that material honesty is its own form of luxury.
