Description

There is a particular stillness in a flower caught mid-bloom, and this ring holds exactly that. Worked in brass and set in the Kundan tradition, the face of the ring opens into a full floral cluster, each petal outlined in a fine gold-toned foil setting and filled with smooth white stones seated in the manner that Rajasthani karigars have refined over centuries. Kundan work, practised with particular precision in the ateliers of Jaipur, involves pressing refined wax or lac beneath the stones to hold them flush and level, so the surface reads as an unbroken field of light rather than a collection of individual elements. The white stones carry a cool luminosity that suits the brass base without competing with it. The adjustable shank means the ring sits comfortably across finger sizes. The face measures 2 cm in height and 2.5 cm in width, and the piece weighs a settled 10 grams. Worn on the index finger over a fine silk kurta in ivory or dusty rose, it reads as quietly ceremonial. Equally, paired with a block-printed cotton kurta and oxidised silver earrings, it anchors a considered everyday look without requiring further ornamentation. The adjustable band opens gently at the back, allowing a secure fit without bending the brass. The brass base is finished to resist tarnish with everyday wear, and the ring is best stored away from moisture and direct perfume to maintain the integrity of the stone setting.
