Description

There are colours that refuse to be singular, and tourmaline is one of them. This sterling silver ring is built around a faceted tourmaline whose hues shift and layer within a single stone, ranging across the pink, green and golden registers that make this gem so quietly extraordinary. The setting is a raised bezel, rendered in sterling silver with a plain, burnished finish that keeps every gram of visual attention on the stone itself. At nineteen millimetres in height, the ring has genuine presence on the hand without tipping into the theatrical; it weighs seven point seven six grams, substantial enough to feel considered, light enough for daily wear. Tourmaline's significance in Indian gemstone traditions is well established, valued for its clarity of colour and the almost mineral honesty of its facets. The silver surround, cool and unadorned, belongs to a school of silversmithing that trusts the stone to carry the piece. Wear it against a silk kurta in ivory or ecru, where the mixed hues read as a quiet counterpoint to understated fabric. It translates equally well at an evening gathering paired with a draped chanderi in sage or blush, where the stone's own spectrum does the work of colour. Available in sizes six through nine, including a half size at eight point five, the ring accommodates a range of fits. Sterling silver requires only occasional polishing with a soft cloth to retain its burnished clarity, making this a piece that earns its place in everyday rotation.
