Description

There are stones that hold light the way dusk holds colour, quietly, and all at once. This faceted tourmaline pendant works precisely that kind of quiet alchemy. The stone itself arrives in mixed hues, the characteristic trait of tourmaline mined from multicoloured seams, where pink shifts into green or gold depending on the angle of the light. Each facet is cut to maximise that play, drawing the eye inward. The setting is sterling silver, worked to frame the stone with a clean, contemporary bezel or prong cradle that keeps the metal secondary to the gem. Sterling silver, when chosen for pendants of this character, carries a cool, honest weight; at 3.4 grams, this piece rests without burdening the neckline. The pendant measures 1.3 inches (approximately 3.3 cm) in height and is slender at 0.2 inches (approximately 0.5 cm) in width, making the silhouette linear and unobtrusive, a sliver of chromatic depth rather than a statement medallion. Worn close to the throat on a fine silver chain, it suits a handwoven cotton kurta in ivory or ecru, the stone's colour doing all the speaking. Equally, it transitions into evening as a single point of interest above a silk blouse or a draped sari in muted olive or dusty rose. The free-size pendant pairs with chains of most gauges. Sterling silver oxidises gently with time and is easily polished back to brightness, making this a practical companion for daily wear.
