Description

There are stones that hold light the way still water holds the sky. This pendant is built in sterling silver around a faceted rainbow moonstone of uncommon depth, its surface cut to coax every shift of adularescence into view. A cluster of deep red garnets sits at the base, a deliberate counterpoint, warm against the moonstone's cool blue-white flash. The silverwork is clean and architectural, with a bezel setting that lets the stone breathe and a bail proportioned for a fine chain. Sterling silver, worked to a smooth polish, gives the piece a contemporary restraint that sits comfortably alongside the gemstone's older, almost mythic quality. Moonstone has long been beloved in Indian jewellery traditions, particularly in silver-forward pieces from Rajasthan and the craft workshops of Jaipur, where cutters understand the particular patience that a phenomenal stone demands. Wear it on a long silver chain with a cream silk kurta for a festive lunch, or layer it over a collared linen shirt for an evening that asks for something considered without being ceremonial. The garnet anchors the composition so it reads equally well at the throat alone or among quieter companions. At five centimetres tall and just over two centimetres wide (2 inches by 0.8 inches), with a depth of roughly 0.6 centimetres, the pendant carries fourteen grams of sterling silver without feeling heavy at the neckline. The free-size bail fits most chain gauges, making it straightforward to restyle across seasons.
