Description

There are stones that hold light the way still water holds the sky. This ring is built around a faceted rainbow moonstone, its surface cut to coax every shifting layer of adularescence into view. Unlike the cabochon cuts favoured in traditional Rajasthani silver work, the faceted form here is a deliberate choice, each angled face catching light at a slightly different register so that the stone reads differently in morning sun than it does under candlelight. The setting is sterling silver, kept clean and architectural so that nothing competes with the stone's interior glow. At fourteen millimetres in height, the ring has a quiet presence on the hand, neither receding nor clamouring. Weighing just three grams, it sits with the ease of something worn daily. The silverwork follows a restrained sensibility, a tradition of unadorned settings that lets the mineral do the speaking. Wear it with a handwoven cotton kurta in ivory or pale grey on a relaxed afternoon. For an evening occasion, let it anchor a hand otherwise unadorned, pairing it against a silk chanderi or a cotton Dhakai blouse where its moonlit quality can hold its own without competition. The fourteen-millimetre profile means the ring reads clearly from across a table without feeling cumbersome. Sterling silver at this weight wears comfortably through long hours. The faceted stone is polished to a smooth finish with no rough edges, making it well suited to everyday use.
