Description

There are rings that whisper, and this is one of them. A single faceted garnet sits at the heart of this sterling silver ring, its deep wine-red depths catching light the way old glass does: slowly, with intention. The stone is set in a clean silver bezel, allowing the gem's natural colour to read without distraction. Faceting, one of the oldest lapidary traditions practised across Jaipur's gem-cutting quarters, coaxes prismatic warmth from a stone already rich in warmth. Garnet, prized in Indian jewellery long before it travelled westward, carries an almost vinous depth, and against oxidised or polished sterling silver it becomes quietly arresting. The ring stands 9 mm in height and weighs a considered 3 grams, substantial enough to feel real on the hand, light enough to forget it is there. Worn on the index finger over a cream cotton kurta and pearl studs, it reads as understated occasion jewellery. Paired with a dark silk blouse and tailored trousers for an evening dinner, it becomes the single point of colour a careful dresser relies upon. Available in sizes 5.5 and 6.5, the ring suits a range of hands without alteration. Sterling silver requires only occasional gentle polishing to retain its lustre, and the bezel setting protects the stone at its girdle, making this a piece one reaches for daily without worry. A quiet conviction in red.
