Description

There are stones that carry the colour of still water after rain, and chrysoprase is one of them. This ring centres a faceted chrysoprase cabochon set in sterling silver, the stone's apple-green translucency deepened by the geometry of its cut. Faceting is a deliberate choice here: each angled plane catches light differently, shifting the stone from jade-cool in shadow to almost luminous in afternoon sun. Sterling silver, with its quietly bright finish, frames the gem without overpowering it, keeping the ring's profile slim and its character understated. The piece stands nine millimetres in height, weighs just two grams, and sits close to the finger with the ease of something meant for daily wear. Chrysoprase has long been prized in Indian jewellery traditions alongside more familiar greens, and in silver it reads as both contemporary and quietly classical. On the hand, it holds its own beside a handwoven cotton sari in ivory or pale ochre, the green stone answering the earthen tones without competing. For diaspora dressers, it pairs equally well over a linen sleeve at a gallery opening or a quiet Sunday lunch, the kind of ring that prompts questions without demanding attention. The ring's modest weight of two grams makes it comfortable across a full day. The sterling silver construction is naturally durable for everyday use, and the close-set profile means it slips easily beneath cuffs and does not catch on fabric, a practical consideration the discerning wearer will quietly appreciate.
