Description

There is something quietly arresting about a single amethyst, caught in silver, doing nothing but hold the light. This ring is built around a faceted amethyst set in sterling silver, its geometry precise and unfussy. The stone's violet depth shifts between grape and mauve depending on the hour, and the silver mount keeps everything clean, letting the cut do its own speaking. Faceted setting in silver has a long, honest tradition in Indian craft, particularly in Jaipur where lapidaries have spent generations coaxing colour from semi-precious stone through careful angling of each flat face. Here, that skill is distilled into a compact silhouette, the band slim and smooth, the bezel just high enough to protect the stone without crowding it. At 5 grams in weight and 7 mm in height, the ring sits close to the hand without bulk or theatre. Wear it alone against a cream cotton kurta at a quiet lunch, where its colour becomes the only punctuation. For an evening gathering, stack it with a plain silver band on an adjacent finger, letting the amethyst hold its own against printed silk or a draped georgette. The sterling silver has been finished to a gentle polish that resists the dullness of daily contact better than a high-mirror shine. The ring is sized at a standard 7 mm height, proportioned to sit comfortably on the index or middle finger through an ordinary day, and light enough to forget you are wearing it until the light reminds you.
