Description

There is a particular stillness to amethyst, the way its violet depths hold light without surrendering it. This pendant is worked in sterling silver, the metal shaped into a clean, elongated setting that allows the faceted amethyst to remain the quiet centre of everything. The stone is cut to catch and scatter light across its many planes, each facet a small argument for the gem's natural depth. Sterling silver, with its cool, unadorned lustre, suits the amethyst's cool temperament: neither metal nor stone overwhelms the other. The silhouette is slender and considered, measuring roughly four and a half centimetres in height and just over one centimetre in width, and the whole piece sits at a composed seven grams, substantial enough to feel present without pressing on the collarbone. The tradition here is that of silver jewellery worked across Rajasthani and North Indian ateliers, where lapidary precision and clean metalwork have long coexisted. Worn against the draped neckline of a silk kurta in ivory or grey, the amethyst reads as a quiet jewel of intention. It is equally comfortable with a linen shirt at a daytime gathering, where its restrained violet becomes the single note that finishes the look. The free-size bail fits most standard chains, and the polished silver finish resists tarnish through regular wear. At seven grams, it travels easily, moving from day to evening without adjustment or apology.
