Description

There is a quiet confidence in a stone that holds light rather than chases it. This pendant pairs two faceted gemstones, a deep violet amethyst and a cool lemon topaz, set in sterling silver in a slender vertical drop. The design is architectural in its restraint: the stones are prong-set to let daylight travel through their cut faces, releasing the particular glow that only faceted gemstones in open settings can offer. Sterling silver, chosen for its cool blue-white finish and its sympathy with pale stones, frames each gem without competing. The piece measures five centimetres in height and just over one centimetre in width, and weighs five grams, light enough to wear from morning to evening without a second thought. This kind of considered silverwork, favouring geometry and gemstone clarity over ornament, sits within a long tradition of Indian studio silver that has flourished in workshops across Jaipur. Wear this pendant over a silk kurta in ivory or sage for a winter wedding lunch, where the lemon topaz will catch the warm indoor light. For a more contemporary pairing, let it fall against the neckline of a tailored black blazer at an evening gathering. The free-size bail fits most chain widths comfortably. The sterling silver has a polished finish that holds its brightness with minimal care; a soft cloth is sufficient to restore its lustre. At five grams, the pendant sits close and flat against the chest, never pulling or twisting.
