Description

There is something quietly insistent about silver that has been worked by hand. This sterling silver ring carries engraved traditional motifs across its low, measured band, a height of just 0.14 inches (approximately 0.36 cm) that sits close to the finger without weight or drama. The engraving itself belongs to a long lineage of silver craft practised across Rajasthan and the Deccan, where karigars incise repeating geometrics, florals or scroll-work directly into the metal surface using fine burins, letting shadow and light do the rest. Sterling silver, an alloy prized for its cool lustre and workability, takes engraving with particular clarity; the lines hold their depth and the finish remains true. At 1.8 grams, the ring is negligible on the hand, yet the detail is anything but. Available in size 4, it suits slender fingers seeking something considered rather than conspicuous. Wear it with a fine cotton kurta in ivory or pale indigo for a morning that asks nothing of you and gives everything back quietly. On a more formal evening, pair it with a silk chanderi or a tissue-weave sari, where the unadorned silver acts as a deliberate counterpoint to embroidered splendour. The ring requires no fastening and no fuss. Sterling silver benefits from occasional polishing with a soft cloth to maintain its brightness. Light and unpretentious at under two grams, it is the kind of piece one reaches for without thinking and notices, later, with genuine pleasure.
