Description

A quiet flourish, worn close to the heart. Two blooms meet at the centre of this sterling silver brooch, their petals pressed flat in a style that recalls the pressed-flower motifs beloved of Bengali silversmiths and the restrained floral vocabulary of colonial-era Indian jewellery. Worked entirely in sterling silver, the piece carries a satin or lightly oxidised finish that allows the petal forms to read with gentle depth rather than high shine. At roughly 1.8 cm in height and 2 cm in width, the dual flower silhouette is precise and unhurried, weighing just 4 grams, so it sits without any pull or heaviness on the cloth beneath it. A pin-and-catch closure at the reverse keeps the brooch steady through the day. On a cream silk sari or an ivory Chanderi blouse, this brooch gathers fabric at the shoulder or drape with the quiet authority of something inherited. For contemporary dressing, pin it to the lapel of a raw-silk or linen jacket for a formal occasion where restraint reads as refinement. Offered in free size, the brooch asks nothing of the wearer in terms of adjustment. The sterling silver construction keeps it light against delicate fabrics, resisting tarnish with minimal care. A soft, dry cloth is all the attention it requires between wearings, making it as practical as it is pleasing.
