Description

There are nights when the moon holds every colour inside its silence. This designer ring is set in sterling silver, its band rising to a height of fourteen millimetres to cradle a single cabochon of rainbow moonstone. The stone is the quiet centre of everything: translucent, slightly domed, shifting between blue, violet and gold as light moves across it. That optical phenomenon, known as adularescence, is the reason moonstone has been treasured in Indian jewellery for centuries, appearing in silver work from the craft ateliers of Jaipur, where silversmiths have long paired oxidised and polished finishes to coax depth from white metal. Here the setting is architectural rather than ornate, the silver worked into a structured bezel that holds the stone close, letting its inner light speak without competition. The ring weighs six grams, present without being heavy, and is offered in sizes five-and-a-half, seven and nine. Wear it with an ivory chanderi kurta and a single strand of fresh-water pearls for an afternoon gathering that asks for restraint and intention. It is equally at home against a deep teal silk saree on an evening when you wish to let one quiet piece do all the talking. The bezel setting protects the moonstone well through daily wear, and sterling silver, at this weight and gauge, holds its shape reliably. A soft polishing cloth will restore the surface sheen whenever you wish it back.
