Description

There is something quietly architectural about a ring that holds its stone the way a lantern holds light. The cage ring is a study in structural silversmithing: fine sterling silver wires, shaped and soldered into an open lattice, rise to a height of just under 1.8 cm to cradle a single cabochon at its crown. The form recalls the wire-wrapped tradition of Indian silver craft, where the metal itself becomes the ornament rather than merely the setting. Four stones are offered, each chosen for its moody depth: the blue-grey flash of labradorite, the floating luminescence of moonstone, the warm pulse of red garnet, and the smoky, resinous calm of smoky quartz. Each changes the ring's entire character. At 4.8 grams, it carries real presence without weight, and the sterling silver develops a gentle, lived-in patina over time that only improves it.
