Description

Carried across the mountains, shaped by devotion. In the highlands of Nepal, where religious iconography and metalwork have been intertwined for centuries, silversmiths render Ganesha not merely as an amulet but as a small, complete theology. This pendant is cast in sterling silver, its surface worked to bring forward the Vighnaharta's characteristic form: the curved trunk, the generous belly, the single tusk that tells the story of sacrifice for knowledge. At roughly 1.2 inches tall (approximately 3 cm) and 0.8 inches wide (approximately 2 cm), the silhouette is intimate without being slight. The silver carries an oxidised or hand-burnished finish typical of Nepalese devotional craft, which deepens the recessed detail and gives the figure its sense of relief and age. Weighing just 3 grams, it rests with quiet authority against the chest. Wear it on a fine sterling box chain under a Chanderi kurta on Ganesh Chaturthi, letting the pendant speak without ornament. It is equally at home on a delicate black thread against a plain merino sweater, worn as an everyday talisman by the diaspora shopper who carries heritage close to the skin. The free-size pendant suits any chain gauge the wearer prefers, and the sterling silver construction requires only occasional polishing with a soft cloth to maintain its lustre. Its modest weight and compact dimensions make it genuinely wearable through a long day, from morning puja to an evening gathering.
