Description

There are rings that ornament a hand, and there are rings that tell a story of cut stone and careful hands. At the centre of this piece sits a cushion-cut Polki stone, cradled within a close-set halo of smaller uncut diamonds in the raw, silvery tradition that Jaipur's Polki artisans have refined across generations. Polki, by its very nature, works with diamonds in their uncut form, preserving the natural facets that reflect light with an antique warmth no modern brilliant can quite replicate. Here, the halo setting amplifies that luminosity, each flanking stone pressed into a brass base that has been worked and finished to carry the weight of the tradition without pretension. The ring measures 1.1 inches in height by 1.3 inches in width (approximately 2.8 cm by 3.3 cm) and weighs a substantial 16 grams, giving it a presence on the finger that is confident without being overbearing. Wear this ring to a Diwali evening gathering alongside a silk tissue kurta in ivory or blush, where its antique finish reads as quietly heirloom. It is equally at home at a daytime wedding function, slipped onto the index finger and paired with unpolished gold bangles for a layered, collector's sensibility. The adjustable shank means a single ring fits a range of finger sizes with ease. Brass as a base metal keeps the piece lightweight for extended wear, and the open-back setting ensures the stone catches available light from every angle.
