Description

Geometry, in the hands of a Kundan karigar, becomes ceremony. The concentric square at the heart of this ring belongs to a lineage of Rajasthani Kundan work in which form and setting are inseparable. Here, squares nest within squares, each frame defined by a border of hand-pressed Kundan stones set flush into lac-backed brass, their foiled undersides catching light with the particular warmth that only this centuries-old technique can produce. Brass, long favoured in folk and bazaar jewellery from Jaipur to Bikaner for its malleability and its ability to hold the goldsmith's detail, is polished to a bright, warm tone that reads richer than its price suggests. The face of the ring measures approximately 1 inch in height by 1.3 inches in width (roughly 2.5 cm by 3.3 cm), a generous cocktail scale that commands the hand without overwhelming the finger. At 13 grams, it carries just enough substance to feel considered. Wear it against a tissue-silk kurta at a festive mehendi, where its bold geometry will hold its own alongside heavier pieces. It pairs equally well with a crisp white linen blazer and handloom trousers for an occasion where one statement piece does all the talking. The adjustable shank opens and closes at the back, accommodating most finger sizes without alteration. Brass requires a little care, best kept away from perfume and moisture, and stored separately so the Kundan setting retains its clarity and alignment over time.
