Description

There is something quietly celestial about a wheel that holds light at its centre. Worked in sterling silver, this pendant takes the form of a spoked wheel, a motif that travels through centuries of Indian decorative tradition, from chariot wheels carved into temple friezes to the geometric rosettes beloved by silversmiths across Rajasthan and the Deccan. At the heart of the composition sits a faceted citrine, its warm amber-gold depth catching and releasing light with each movement. Sterling silver gives the surround a cool, luminous finish that the warmth of citrine balances with precision. The pendant measures 1.5 inches in height and 1.1 inches in width (approximately 3.8 cm by 2.8 cm), and weighs 14.29 grams, substantial enough to carry presence without pulling at a chain. The silver has been worked to define each spoke cleanly, giving the wheel its geometry without losing the softness that characterises fine handcrafted metalwork. Wear it on a fine silver chain over a milk-white silk kurta for a winter evening gathering, or layer it against a deep teal linen shirt for a considered weekday look that carries meaning without effort. The free-size pendant suits a range of chain lengths and styles. The sterling silver resists tarnish with modest care, and the secure stone setting means the citrine sits flush and stable through daily wear, making this a piece to reach for often.
