Description

There is a quietness to silver when it is worked with patience rather than speed. This circular pendant, measuring approximately 5.8 cm in diameter and weighing a solid 20 grams, is centred on a language of geometry made gentle. The dimpled surface catches light the way hammered vessels do in a silversmith's workshop, each small indentation a deliberate impression rather than an accident of craft. At its heart, a spiral traces its path outward, one of the oldest marks a hand can make in metal, found in coastal silver traditions from Nagercoil to the tribal silver lineages of Rajasthan. Sterling silver, with its cool, honest lustre, suits this vocabulary perfectly: no gilding, no stones, no distraction. The finish reads as satin-brushed at the dimples and brighter at the raised spiral, giving the piece a subtle tonal depth that photographs cannot quite capture. Worn long on a fine silver chain, it settles beautifully over a dense block-printed cotton kurta or an ivory chanderi sari blouse, the circular form echoing the geometry often found in handwoven textiles. For evening, it pairs with a structured silk blouse and palazzo trousers, the pendant large enough to read as jewellery without needing to announce itself. At free size with a 5.8 cm disc, this is a considered everyday pendant. The sterling construction means it carries real weight without discomfort, and the unfussy design asks very little in terms of care, ageing gracefully with regular silver maintenance.
