Description

There are prayers that travel quietly, worn close to the skin. Chaturbhuja, the four-armed one, Ganesha here assumes his most auspicious form: seated in lotus posture, each hand free to carry blessing, abhaya, and the symbolic attributes of the remover of obstacles. Cast in sterling silver by craftsmen working in a tradition that draws equally from temple jewellery sensibilities and the repoussé silverwork long practised across Rajasthan and Bengal, this pendant carries surprising weight for its scale. At one inch in height and just over half an inch in width (approximately 2.5 cm by 1.4 cm), the figure is intimate rather than declarative. The raised relief brings out the curve of the lotus petals beneath him, the gentle modelling of his countenance, and the precision of his four arms without crowding the composition. Weighing eight grams in sterling silver, it is substantial enough to feel considered, never token. Two finish options exist: a bright Polish that catches light cleanly, and a Vintage finish that settles into the carved recesses and gives the piece the warmth of something inherited. Worn on a thin silver chain, it sits well at the collarbone over an ivory Chanderi kurta for a puja morning, or over a simple white shirt for a professional day that begins with intention. Both sizes, the standard one-inch and the slightly larger 1.2-inch vintage variant (approximately 3 cm by 1.8 cm), are finished for everyday wear, the smooth sterling back lying flat against the skin without irritation.
