Description

Four arms outstretched, Ganesha holds court in gleaming brass. This brooch renders Chaturbhuja Ganesha, the four-armed form of the remover of obstacles, in cast and finished brass that carries the warm, golden-amber depth particular to quality Indian base-metal work. Each hand is articulated with care: the abhaya mudra, the modak, the ankusha and the broken tusk are all legible at a glance, speaking to the iconographic rigour of devotional jewellery traditions long practised in temple-craft centres across Rajasthan and South India. The piece measures approximately 6.7 cm in height by 5.8 cm in width and weighs a substantial 49.4 grams, giving it genuine presence on the body. The finish is bright and burnished, with faint relief shadows that allow the deity's silhouette to read clearly against fabric. Pin this at the centre of a silk chanderi dupatta draped over one shoulder for a festive puja gathering, or fasten it to the breast pocket of a structured ivory kurta set for a formal cultural evening where personal devotion and refined dressing quietly meet. The brooch is free size and closes with a standard pin fitting at the reverse. At nearly 50 grams, it anchors itself securely to heavier weaves such as handloom cotton or brocade without pulling. Brass requires only a soft cloth to restore its lustre, making this a piece suited to repeated, confident wear across seasons.
