There are beliefs older than language, and this pendant carries one of them. The chakra, that ancient symbol of cosmic order and perpetual motion, has been rendered here in sterling silver with a precision that speaks to generations of Indian silversmithing. The circular motif, its spokes radiating outward in measured symmetry, draws on a vocabulary shared across temple architecture, manuscript borders and the decorative arts of Rajasthan and the Deccan.
