Description

There are sounds older than language, and the Om is the oldest of them all. Cast in warm-toned brass, this pendant carries the sacred Om symbol at its centre, rendered with the rounded, deliberate strokes that characterise devotional metalwork across North India. Brass has been the metal of the mandira for centuries, prized not for its rarity but for its resonance: temples from Rajasthan to Bengal have long used it to hold the divine. The pendant measures 1.1 inches in height by 0.9 inches in width (approximately 2.8 cm by 2.3 cm) and weighs a grounded 6.8 grams, giving it just enough presence to be felt against the skin without demanding attention. The finish is burnished to a warm, mellow gold tone, and the piece is available in red, suggesting an accent cord or enamel detail that honours the colour of auspicious beginnings. Wear it threaded on a silk cord for daily puja mornings, paired with a plain cotton kurta in ivory or saffron, letting the symbol speak without ornament. On festive evenings, layer it over a red chanderi or a simple cotton silk saree for a quiet, considered devotion rather than decoration. At free size with a standard bail, this pendant suits most cord thicknesses and chain gauges. Brass acquires a gentle patina over time; a soft cloth restore its warmth. A small, sincere piece for everyday intention.
