Description

There are flowers that bloom only after dark, and this ring belongs to that hour. A clustered floral face, nearly four centimetres wide (1.45 inches) and just over two and a half centimetres tall (1.05 inches), fills the finger with a confidence that recalls the oversized statement jewellery of Rajasthani costume tradition, where brass was never considered lesser than gold but a canvas in its own right. The principal bloom is set with deep blue stones at its heart, ringed outward by American-diamond zirconia in a prong-and-pavé cluster arrangement that catches light the way a dewdrop does at an angle. The brass base carries a warm, slightly oxidised undertone that keeps the piece from reading as costume and anchors it firmly in the vocabulary of considered adornment. At twenty grams, the weight is present and intentional, the kind that reminds the hand it is dressed. Wear it against an ink-blue or ivory silk kurta for a festive dinner where the conversation deserves a centrepiece. It reads equally well alongside a deep-toned, embroidered evening blouse paired with tailored cigarette trousers for a city occasion that calls for something more than fine but less than formal. The adjustable shank opens and closes without tools, accommodating most finger sizes with ease. Brass holds its finish well with minimal care: a dry cloth after wear is sufficient. At this scale, one ring is enough, and this one knows it.
