Description

There is a particular stillness to silver when it holds colour. This ring is set in sterling silver and carries an inlaid stone of deep, composed blue at its centre. The silhouette is low and considered, rising just five millimetres from the band, so it sits close to the hand rather than declaring itself from across a room. The inlay work draws on a tradition of stone-setting long practised across Rajasthan, where artisans press cut stones flush into recessed silver beds, allowing colour and metal to meet at a single, seamless plane. The result is neither raised nor filigree but something quieter: a flat, jewel-like face that catches light without chasing it. At four point one grams, the ring carries genuine weight on the finger, a reminder that sterling silver at this thickness is a material of substance. Wear it with a crisp white kurta and unstarched cotton trousers for a working afternoon that still carries occasion. It reads with equal ease beside a silk sari blouse at an intimate gathering, the blue inlay echoing indigo, cobalt or deep teal textiles without competing. The band is offered in sizes eight and nine. Sterling silver at this gauge holds its shape through daily wear, though it benefits from being kept away from perfume and water when possible. The smooth, polished finish on the band requires no special care beyond an occasional soft cloth, making this a ring one simply puts on and forgets.
