Description

Devotion, when cast in silver, carries a quietness that gold cannot always reach. This pendant centres on Hanuman in his blessing posture, the right hand raised in abhaya mudra, rendered in sterling silver with the weight and stillness of traditional votive iconography. At 6.1 grams, the piece sits with substance rather than delicacy, the silver worked to hold the figural relief with clean, unhurried lines. The vintage finish, applied across the surface, draws out the recessed details of the form: the mace, the muscular silhouette, the folds of the dhoti. In the vintage colourway, the pendant measures 1.25 inches in height and 0.8 inches in width (approximately 3.2 cm by 2 cm), lending it a presence proportionate to devotional wear. The craft tradition it belongs to is that of South Indian and Rajasthani silver casting, where figural religious pendants have long been produced for personal shrines and daily wearing alike. Pair it with a simple cotton kurta and a thin silver chain for morning prayer or temple visits. It reads equally well worn against a silk blouse beneath an unlined dupatta, the vintage patina catching the light without competing with printed or embroidered textiles. At free size, the pendant suits any chain gauge and requires no special fastening. The sterling silver construction resists tarnish with minimal care, and the compact silhouette means the pendant lays flat against the chest without catching on fabric.
