Description

Devotion cast in sterling silver, worn close to the heart. Bhurakhiya Hanuman Dada is one of the most venerated forms of the deity, depicted here in his fierce, upright aspect, rendered in sterling silver with the kind of quiet authority that belongs to the temple-jewellery tradition. The pendant measures 1.65 inches in height by 1 inch in width (approximately 4.2 cm by 2.5 cm), its relief work tracing the contours of the figure with considered care. At 12.1 grams, the silver carries genuine heft, the metal catching light in that warm, oxidised manner associated with devotional silverwork from Rajasthan and the ateliers of Jaipur, where craftsmen have long translated sacred iconography into wearable form. The finish appears antiqued, lending the motif the gravitas of a hereditary piece rather than a newcomer to the shrine. Worn on a fine silver chain with a white cotton kurta and dhoti at morning aarti, or layered against a deep indigo silk sherwani at a festival gathering, this pendant carries devotion into occasion without a word of explanation. Free-sized for universal wear, the pendant suits both men and women. The oxidised sterling silver resists tarnish with minimal care, a gentle polish restoring its lustre. The standard silhouette sits comfortably at the sternum and pairs with most chain weights, making it as suitable for daily devotion as for celebratory dress.
