Description

There is something quietly luminous about a single pearl held in silver, as though the ocean decided to stay. Wrought in sterling silver and standing nineteen millimetres tall, this ring belongs to a lineage of everyday adornment that Indian silversmiths have long understood: restraint as its own kind of richness. The central pearl, cool and opalescent, sits in a bezel or prong cradle that allows light to move around it rather than pin it in place. Sterling silver, an alloy prized for its workability and bright, unfussy sheen, provides the setting with a clean architectural presence. At just 3.2 grams, the ring carries almost nothing on the finger, yet the height of the mount gives it the composure of something considered. This is the sensibility one finds in Bengali and Rajasthani silver traditions alike: a single stone, a single intention, nothing more needed. Wear it with a fine cotton mulmul kurta and oxidised silver earrings for a curated daytime gathering. For evening, pair it against a silk blouse in ivory or pale gold, where the pearl's natural lustre reads as its own jewellery. Available in sizes 7 and 8, the ring suits most adult fingers without adjustment. The sterling silver develops a gentle patina with wear, which polishes away easily with a soft cloth. Because the mount sits upright at nineteen millimetres, it wears best on the index or middle finger, where it has room to be seen.
