Description

She guards the threshold, and now she rests close to the heart. Ashapura Maa, the wish-fulfilling goddess venerated across Rajasthan and Gujarat, is rendered here in sterling silver with the kind of quiet devotion that belongs to heirloom craft rather than mass production. The pendant measures 1.3 inches in height by 1 inch in length (approximately 3.3 cm by 2.5 cm) and weighs a reassuring 7.55 grams, substantial enough to feel considered in the hand. The silverwork draws on the long tradition of devotional jewellery produced by silversmiths of the western Indian plains, where the goddess's form is pressed and chased into the metal with careful attention to facial expression and crown detail. The finish carries the cool, matte-to-bright gradation typical of hand-worked sterling, where recessed areas hold shadow and raised surfaces catch light, giving the deity dimension and presence without the distraction of applied colour or stone. Wear it on a fine silk cord against a cotton kurta for daily puja or festival mornings; or layer it on a delicate silver chain beneath a zardozi-worked blouse for Navratri, where its devotional weight reads as both ornament and intention. Being free size, the pendant pairs with any chain of a standard bale width. Sterling silver at this gauge resists bending in daily wear, and the compact silhouette sits flat against the collarbone without snagging fabric, making it a practical companion from morning ritual to evening gathering.
