Description

Ucchista Ganapati, the tantric form of Ganesha, rendered in sterling silver with the weight of devotion and the patience of the engraver's hand. This pendant belongs to a lineage of antique-finish silverwork that draws from temple iconography as much as from the jeweller's craft. Ucchista Ganapati is among the most esoteric of Ganesha's thirty-two forms, depicted here in his seated, six-armed aspect, every attribute and mudra pressed into sterling silver with the kind of precise, low-relief detailing that recalls the repousse tradition of Bengal and the devotional silversmithing of Nagercoil's temple workshops. The antiquing is not a patina applied carelessly; it is a deliberate oxidisation that draws shadow into the carved recesses, making the raised form of the deity read clearly against the darkened ground. At 14 grams, the piece carries a satisfying presence without burden, and at 1.7 inches height by 1.1 inches width (approximately 4.3 cm by 2.8 cm), it sits as a considered centrepiece rather than a quiet accent. Worn against a deep-toned Kanjivaram silk at a puja gathering, it reads as an heirloom. Paired with a white cotton kurta on an ordinary morning, it becomes a quiet, personal declaration of faith worn close to the body. The free-size bail fits most chain widths. The antique finish is durable for daily wear and requires only occasional polishing with a soft, dry cloth to maintain its depth.
