Description

There are moments when devotion becomes ornament, and ornament becomes devotion. This pendant carries the image of Ram Lalla, the beloved child form of Lord Rama, rendered in sterling silver and given an antique finish that speaks of age, of temple precincts, of inherited faith. The motif sits within a framed silhouette, its surface worked to catch light unevenly, the way old silver does when it has been handled with reverence across generations. The antique patination is deliberate, lending depth to the relief detailing and drawing the eye inward toward the figure at the centre. At 10.4 grams, the pendant carries a quiet, substantive weight, present without being heavy. It measures 1.5 inches in height by 0.75 inches in width (approximately 3.8 cm by 1.9 cm), a proportion that reads clearly at the neckline without overwhelming it. This is devotional jewellery in the oldest sense, shaped by a silversmithing tradition that runs through the temple towns of South India and the artisan quarters of Bengal alike. Wear it on a fine silver chain against a silk cotton kurta for a morning puja or a festival gathering. Equally, it settles beautifully over a cream handloom sari, where its tonal restraint speaks softly but with conviction. Offered in a polished antique finish, this is a free-size piece requiring no adjustment. Sterling silver worn close to the skin improves with time, and a simple soft cloth polish will keep it luminous between wearings.
