Description

There are devotions that one simply wears close to the heart. This pendant carries Lord Hanuman in sterling silver, rendered with the depth and warmth that only an antique finish can lend. The surface oxidation is deliberate, not accidental: it settles into every carved recess to bring the deity's form into sharp relief, accentuating the sinew, the mudra, the characteristic posture of devotion and strength. The antique silversmith's tradition of controlled patination has long been practised across Rajasthan and Bengal, where artisans use controlled chemical burnishing to age sterling silver into something that reads as ancestral. At 7.5 grams, the pendant carries real presence without weight; at its standard size of 1.25 inches height by 0.55 inches (approximately 3.2 cm by 1.4 cm), it sits neatly at the collarbone. A smaller variant at 0.9 inches height by 0.4 inches (approximately 2.3 cm by 1 cm) is also available for those who prefer a quieter devotional accent. Wear the standard size on a thick black silk cord against a crisp ivory kurta for morning prayers or a festive gathering; the smaller variant threads beautifully on a delicate silver chain beneath the collar of a formal churidar ensemble, present but private. Sterling silver acquires a gentle patina with daily wear, which only deepens its antique character. A soft dry cloth restores its lustre. The pendant suits both men and women and requires no special storage, only occasional care.
