Description

She arrives at the throat like a whispered invocation. Adya, the first and primordial, Mahakali in her most sovereign form: this pendant renders the goddess not in the theatrical excess of bazaar iconography, but with the controlled devotion of a silversmith who understands restraint. Cast and finished in sterling silver, the pendant carries the deep, slightly oxidised warmth that only hand-worked silver achieves, allowing the relief of the deity's figure to emerge from shadow in the manner of antique repoussé work. Sterling silver at this weight, 5.3 grams, has a satisfying presence without heaviness, and the surface holds its detail the way old Rajasthani and Bengali devotional silver always did: every contour deliberate, nothing incidental. The piece measures just under one inch in height, or approximately 2.4 centimetres, making it intimate in scale and quietly powerful at the neckline. Wear this on a fine sterling or oxidised silver chain against a cream handwoven kurta for a morning of quiet intention, or let it anchor a silk blouse at a puja or festival gathering where heritage rather than spectacle is the desired register. Free in size and designed for everyday devotion as much as occasion, the piece requires only a soft cloth to maintain its lustre. The sterling silver is robust enough to accompany daily wear, and its compact silhouette sits flush and still, never catching or tangling.
