Description

There is something unhurried about a ring that asks to be looked at slowly. Kundan work belongs to the royal ateliers of Rajasthan, where karigars press uncut glass stones into a bed of lac, then fold fine foil-backed settings around each piece until the surface glows like a still pool catching lamplight. This ring carries that tradition into a form that is both bold and wearable: a wide, flat-topped panel set with Kundan stones arranged in a close floral cluster, its brass base lending the piece a warm, slightly antiqued tone that polished gold cannot quite replicate. Hanging from the lower edge of the panel are bead drops, a finishing gesture that adds movement and a faint, soft sound with every turn of the hand. The ring measures approximately four centimetres in length and just under three centimetres in width, and weighs nineteen grams, substantial enough to feel considered on the finger. Wear it against a raw silk kurta in ivory for a formal lunch, or let it anchor the wrist end of a draped sari ensemble at a festive family gathering. Either way, the drop detailing reads from across a table. The adjustable shank opens and closes gently, fitting most finger sizes without pressure on the setting. Brass holds its finish well with minimal care; a soft dry cloth after wear is all this piece asks for in return.
