Description

There is something quietly radical about a circle that refuses to close. This ring is built around a bold circular frame in sterling silver, its open adjustable band allowing the form to breathe and adapt. At the centre sits a geometric-cut coral, its warm terracotta red caught and held by a clean bezel setting that lets the stone speak without ornament. Sterling silver at this weight, 12 grams, carries a satisfying density on the hand; the metal is finished to a smooth, restrained polish that neither shouts nor disappears. The circular silhouette itself draws loosely from the vocabulary of tribal and folk silver traditions found across Rajasthan and the Deccan, where bold geometric forms and vivid stones were worn as daily talismans rather than occasion-only adornments. The coral, prized in both Jain and Hindu jewellery traditions for its colour and symbolic warmth, is cut here into faceted planes that catch light with a modernist clarity. Wear it against raw silk or handloom cotton for daytime ease, the red stone settling like an accent note against ivory or ochre. For evening, it sits equally well alongside a draped chiffon with gold thread, adding an earthen counterpoint to delicate metallics. The adjustable band opens the ring to fit most fingers comfortably beyond the standard size 7. The piece measures 8 inches by 8 inches (approximately 20 cm by 20 cm) at its widest display, and its weight makes it present without feeling heavy across a long day.
