Gentle & simple
the story,

Behind this piece

Art silk, known formally as viscose, entered the Indian textile vocabulary as a democratic counterpart to pure mulberry silk, carrying the same luminous drape without the weight of exclusivity. This pearled-ivory scarf draws on that tradition of devotional textiles long produced for pilgrimage markets, temple towns, and sacred gifting. The printed Jay Shree Ram invocation and the architectural rendering of the Ayodhya Mandir position this piece within a centuries-old practice of weaving faith into fabric. Ivory, the colour of surrender and sanctity in Hindu iconography, was a deliberate and considered choice for this particular prayer offering.

to wear it,

How to style

Drape this scarf over a white or saffron kurta pyjama for morning puja or a temple visit, allowing the Ayodhya Mandir print to fall visible across the chest. For women, layer it across a simple cotton saree as a devotional dupatta, paired with oxidised silver earrings and kolhapuri chappals. At a grihapravesh ceremony or Ram Navami gathering, wear it folded lengthwise over a formal sherwani for understated reverence. Both men and women will find it equally at home draped loosely over the shoulders at an evening satsang.

to last,

Fabric & care

Art silk rewards gentle handling. Hand-wash in cool water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent, never hot water, which causes the viscose fibres to weaken and lose their sheen. Do not wring or twist; press excess water out softly between two dry towels. Dry flat in shade, away from direct sunlight, which can yellow an ivory ground over time. Iron on a low setting with a pressing cloth between iron and fabric. Store folded in a muslin bag, not a plastic cover, to allow the fibre to breathe and retain its lustre across years of devotional use.
