Description

There are mangalsutras that announce themselves, and there are those that simply belong. This double-strand piece speaks the quiet grammar of the bridal tradition without raising its voice. Two slender strands of brass-set stones fall in parallel, their rhythm interrupted at the centre by a pendant cluster where the stones gather in a close, geometric arrangement reminiscent of the studded work favoured by artisans in the bazaars of Jaipur and Bikaner. The brass base is finished to a warm, golden tone, giving the set a richness that punches well above its modest weight of sixteen grams. The matching earrings echo the pendant's silhouette, repeating the stone-studded motif so that the set reads as a considered whole rather than an afterthought. At approximately 10.7 inches, or roughly 27 centimetres, the strand sits at the collarbone, neither lost in a neckline nor competing with it.
