Description
There are shrines you carry on your wrist. The Ram Darbar, that eternal tableau of Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman assembled in divine court, has been a consecrated motif in Indian devotional craft for centuries, pressed into brass with the same reverence once reserved for temple doors and processional silver. Here, the scene is rendered in relief across a broad cuff form, the imagery set within a band that stands 0.8 inches (roughly 2 cm) tall and spans an outer diameter of 2.6 inches (6.6 cm) at the standard size. Brass, long used in ritual objects from Vrindavan to Udupi, carries a warmth that gold-toned and antique-finished metals rarely match for devotional wear. The screw-openable closure is a considered detail, a mechanism familiar from old Rajasthani and Gujarati kadas, allowing the bangle to sit flush and secure without the forcing that harms a wrist or distorts a frame. The piece weighs a substantial 94 grams, affirming its presence. Wear these to a morning puja or a temple visit with a silk saree in ivory or ochre, the brass catching the diyas. They read equally well with a handloom cotton kurta for festive family gatherings where the occasion calls for sentiment over spectacle. Three inner diameter sizes are available: 2 inches (5.1 cm), 2.15 inches (5.5 cm) and 2.25 inches (5.7 cm). The screw mechanism makes daily fastening simple and ensures the bangle sits centred on the wrist throughout the day.
