Description

There is something in the teardrop that has always spoken the language of longing and adornment at once. Each bangle in this pair is set with uncut Polki stones arranged in the teardrop silhouette that Rajasthani jewellers have refined across generations, working the raw, unfoiled brilliance of the stones directly into the metal so that light strikes them at its most honest angle. The base is brass, shaped and finished to carry the weight of the setting with quiet confidence. The openable hinge closure, a detail borrowed from the finer traditions of Jaipur's kangan-makers, allows the bangle to sit flush against the wrist without the struggle of forcing it over the hand. At sixty grams, the pair carries a presence you can feel. The Polki work here belongs to a lineage that prizes the natural face of the stone over the polished perfection of faceted cuts, trusting the karigar's placement to do what no lathe can. Wear these bangles with a tissue silk or chanderi kurta in ivory or blush for an evening mehfil, or let them anchor the wrists of a handloom cotton sari for a daytime cultural gathering where restraint is its own statement. Available in wrist sizes 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6 inches to suit a range of fits. The openable mechanism makes sizing practical rather than approximate, and the brass foundation, sealed against daily wear, requires only occasional gentle wiping to keep its lustre steady.
