Description

There is something in the teardrop that has always moved the hand of the Indian jeweller toward devotion. These bangles carry that instinct forward through the language of Polki, the oldest uncut-diamond setting tradition in the subcontinent, here reinterpreted in warm brass with teardrop-shaped Polki stones arranged along the circumference. The stones sit in open-backed, foil-lined collets that catch and scatter light in the manner of Rajasthani bazaar jewellery, where surface brilliance is never accidental but always architectural. Brass, long beloved in folk and festive jewellery across Rajasthan and Bengal, lends the pair a deep golden warmth that oxidises gently at the edges, giving the piece an antique quality that no plating can replicate. The bangles are sold as a pair and weigh approximately fifty-nine grams together, a reassuring substantiality that signals honest craft rather than hollow ornament. Wear them stacked on one wrist over a deep-toned silk kurta for a Diwali gathering, letting the Polki catch the diyas. For daywear, a single pair over a handloom cotton saree in indigo or rust reads as effortless and considered in equal measure. Available in sizes 2.4, 2.6, 2.8 and 2.10, the bangles follow the standard Indian bangle sizing convention. The brass construction resists everyday knocks, though the stones ask to be kept away from water and perfume to preserve the integrity of the foil setting beneath.
