Description

There is a particular kind of ornament that does not announce itself, yet refuses to go unnoticed. These bangles are worked in brass, a metal long favoured by craftsmen across Rajasthan and Bengal for its warm, gold-like depth and its willingness to hold intricate settings with patience. The stones are set flush into the body of each bangle, following a repeat motif that draws on the vocabulary of bazuband and choori traditions, where colour and geometry speak in equal measure. The setting style suggests a collet or bezel approach, securing each stone firmly so the composition reads as a continuous band of light rather than scattered embellishment. The brass has been finished to a burnished warmth, allowing the stones to hold their own without competition from an overly polished ground. At 34 grams across the set, there is presence here without heaviness. Wear these with a hand-block-printed kurta in indigo or madder for a weekday that deserves more than plainness, or stack them against the wrist on a festive evening alongside a silk tissue sari, where they will hold their ground beside far more elaborate gold. The stones carry colour that bridges casual and celebratory with ease. Each bangle sits close to the wrist without pinching. Brass of this weight wears comfortably through a long day, and the stone settings require only that you keep them away from prolonged moisture. A soft cloth is all the care they ask for.
