Description

There are bangles made to be worn, and then there are bangles made to be remembered. The Rajwadi bangle draws its soul from the courts of Rajasthan, where broad cuff forms and layered ornamentation were a language of rank and occasion. This pair is worked in brass, its surface set with uncut Polki stones whose flat, foil-backed facets catch light the way a still lake catches the late afternoon sun: imperfectly, honestly, beautifully. The pink colourway warms the brass ground, lending the piece the look of aged gold without pretending to be anything other than what it is. An openable hinge allows the cuff to part and close cleanly, preserving the integrity of the silhouette, a broad arc measuring approximately 2.4 cm in height and 4.95 cm in width, the pair together weighing a substantial 100 grams that settles with satisfying presence at the wrist. Wear both cuffs stacked on a single wrist over a heavily embroidered Benarasi blouse for a wedding reception, or slip just one onto a bare arm over a simple ivory kurta for an evening of quiet ceremony. The contrast does the work. At just under an inch in height (0.95 inch, or roughly 2.4 cm), the cuff sits flat within the sleeve without catching on fabric. The hinge mechanism makes sizing forgiving and everyday fastening effortless, while the brass base ensures the piece remains light enough in spirit for occasions that ask for beauty without effort.
