Description

The paisley is perhaps the oldest love letter in Indian ornament, and here it arrives in Polki, unfastened and ready to be worn. Rooted in the Mughal jewellery vocabulary that found its finest expression in Rajasthan, the paisley, or keri, has long been the chosen motif for pieces that carry weight without ostentation. These bangles are set in brass worked to a warm, gold-toned finish, with uncut Polki stones laid into the surface in a manner that catches light the way a Jaipur bazaar does at noon: fractured, generous, alive. The openable hinge closure, a practical inheritance from antique kangan design, allows the bangle to be worn without force, preserving both the piece and the wearer. Sold as a pair, they weigh eighty grams together, a presence felt on the wrist without heaviness. Available in sizes 2.2 and 2.4, they suit a range of wrists with equal elegance. For a festive afternoon, wear them with a tissue-silk kurta in ivory or deep saffron; the Polki glints against the weave without competing. For a wedding reception, stack them beneath a single Kundan choker and let the wrists carry the evening quietly. The openable clasp means these slip on and off in seconds, making them genuinely practical for daily festive dressing. The brass base holds its finish well against light wear. Both sizes follow standard Indian bangle sizing at 2.2 and 2.4.
