Description

Polki in its most unguarded form: oval, luminous, and framed just so. Each bangle in this pair is set with oval-cut polki stones arranged along a broad brass cuff, the uncut mineral faces catching light the way a still pond catches the afternoon. The setting follows the Jadau spirit, wherein the stone is embedded into the metal rather than merely perched upon it, giving the piece a solidity that belies its openable hinge. Brass, long favoured in the ateliers of Jaipur and Bikaner for its warmth and workability, lends the cuff a golden undertone that reads as quietly opulent without overstating itself. The two colourways, green and pink, reference the palette of Rajasthani bazaars: one cool and herbal, one soft and roseate. Each bangle weighs approximately fifty grams, which is to say it is present on the wrist without being heavy, and it opens cleanly at the hinge for ease of wear. Wear the green pair with a tissue silk saree in ivory or a deep bottle-green kurta set for an evening mehfil. Reach for the pink pair alongside a chanderi dupatta ensemble or a pastel lehenga at a daytime sangeet. Both colourways move comfortably between intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Available in sizes 2.2 and 2.4, the openable closure means the fit accommodates without struggle. The brass finish requires only occasional gentle wiping to retain its warm glow.
