Description

There is a certain confidence in width, in the unapologetic breadth of a kada that announces itself before you speak. This broad openable kada is worked in brass and set with oval-cut polki stones arranged across its face in a bold, orderly repeat. Polki, the flat-faced uncut diamond simulant long favoured in the ateliers of Jaipur and Bikaner, lends each stone a soft, diffused gleam rather than the sharp brilliance of a faceted cut. The unfinished quality is entirely intentional: polki has always been about warmth, about light held gently rather than thrown. Set into a substantial brass frame with a hinged, openable closure, the kada sits wide and proud on the wrist, measuring 1.20 inches (approximately 3 cm) in height with an inner diameter of 1.80 inches (approximately 4.6 cm). At 82 grams, it carries real presence without feeling burdensome. Wear it alone over the sleeve of a hand-embroidered Chanderi kurta for a weekday lunch where you want one considered piece. Pair it with a tissue silk saree and raw-polished ear studs for a festive evening where the goal is restraint over accumulation. The hinged opening makes daily wear genuinely practical: no forcing over knuckles, no anxiety about sizing. Brass holds its form well and develops a gentle warmth in tone over time. A single piece; a single, considered statement.
