Description

There are bangles you wear, and then there are bangles that wear you back. This piece belongs firmly to the second kind. Rooted in the meenakari tradition that flourished in the ateliers of Jaipur, where karigars learned to coax colour into metal the way a miniaturist coaxes life into pigment, the bangle carries that same devotion to surface. Lacquer in place of fired enamel gives the motifs a warm, slightly matte depth, the hues sitting quietly rather than clamouring for attention. The brass silver alloy base has been worked into a broad cuff silhouette, measuring three centimetres in height, with an inner diameter of five point eight centimetres, and it opens at a discreet hinge closure so the fit is never a battle of wrists and willpower. At a substantial hundred and twenty-four grams, the bangle announces itself with quiet authority the moment it settles on the arm. Pair it with a handwoven Benarasi tissue or a chanderi silk kurta for an evening when dressing feels like a considered act. On a more relaxed afternoon, it holds its own against raw silk separates or a cotton ikat, where its colour becomes the only ornamentation you need. The hinged opening means daily wear is genuinely effortless. The lacquer surface is best kept away from prolonged water exposure, but it rewards gentle care with lasting brightness. A single bangle, worn alone, is more than enough.
